Jay Zinn became a Christian, January 9, 1972, while serving as a young man in the U.S. Air Force at Eglin AFB in Florida. During a month-long mission trip to Nicaragua (January 1973), a calling began to stir in his heart which was later confirmed by a spiritual encounter he had one afternoon in the woods during his prayer time. Orders suddenly came, thereafter, for a new assignment to Elmendorf Air Force base in Anchorage, Alaska, where God placed him in a charismatic church with strong teaching and discipleship.

Upon arrival, Jay’s calling was confirmed through an elder’s prophetic ministry. Three years later, after being equipped and trained in that congregation and his personal studies, the church ordained and sent Jay and his wife, Roseann, with a team of five people to plant his first church in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He planted and pastored two other churches as well.

Today, after 45 years of pastoral and teaching ministry, Jay has concentrated on his assignment by God to disciple the nations through his Discipleship Group system and curriculum. He holds a Doctor of Ministry and a Ph.D. in Theology from Logos Graduate School in Jacksonville, Florida. He also serves as an apostle and mentor to other pastors and spiritual leaders. Jay travels internationally once a year to other countries to train and equip churches for discipleship in the mission field so that they may raise up indigenous church planters.

On a personal note, Jay is a published and professional artist which serves as a “tentmaking” career to help support his calling. His original artwork is exhibited at the AVA Gallery in Davidson, North Carolina (jayzinnart.com). He is also a published author of the novel, The Unveiling as well as his non-fiction book, Countdown to Eternity: A Concise Account of Revelation’s Events Leading Up to the Second Coming. Jay has been married to his one and only bride, Roseann, since 1974. They have two adult children, and two granddaughters.
